PMS symptoms and pelvic pain - need ideas

Please give feedback. I am 38 y.o and was treated with Lupron for the past 6 mos. to see if I am a candidate for a hysterectomy. I felt greeaat except that I suddenly started getting migraines and nausea. I wast started on the estrogen patch and eventually the higher dose alleviated my migraines but the nausea was intense and I wasn't eating. My doctor told me to stop everything! and that I'm not a candidate for a hyster. ooferectomy b/c of how I responded. It's been 2 weeks off of everyting and I am miserable with all my PMS symptoms and pelvic pain. anyone have ideas. PLEASE

Re: PMS symptoms and pelvic pain - need ideas

that sounds backwards- I was put on Lupron to try to AVOID hysterectomy. If the Lupron is successful in alleviating pain and bleeding, and if the bcp followup is also successful, then you wouldn't be a candidate for hysterectomy. the hysterectomy happens because the Lupron doesn't work.

no it's really not backwards, there are different reasons to use Lupron 1 of them is to shrink fibroids and if that works then you don't need hyster. on the other hand in my case i have severe pain and pms and before they get radical and remove everything, they first want to see if that is the answer to my problem

((nanou-ct))

Unfortunately, migraines can be a side effect of Lupron. I am sorry you are now experiencing them! It could take a bit to get all of the Lupron out of your system.

Lupron creates pseudo-menopause and some women do find surgical menopause to be quite different than what they experience with Lupron. But you don't know until after you have had an oophorectomy!

Have you had a second opinion about what options might be available for you? Do you have a specific diagnosis for your pain and symptoms? Sometimes knowing exactly why you are symptomatic can help with treatment options!

Have you tried birth control pills, natural progesterone cream, or the Mirena IUD?

Keep talking to your doctor about what is causing your symptoms and what you can do to eliminate them!

Sending gentle S!
