My surgery got moved up! (Omg!)

Well yesterday morning I call my doctor to ask for a refill on the pain medicine I have been taking (Lortab 5). I told them the pain had not gone away or even lessened on my ovary (cyst) as my doctor said it would and that the night before I had started bleeding - though that could be my period. The next thing I know, they are calling me back to move my surgery up 11 days early!

I should have asked why, and go in Tuesday (the 24th) for pre-op so I'm sure to find out then, but wonder why they moved it based on that one phone conversation?

Probably had a cancellation and your timing was just very lucky. Be happy that it got moved up. The sooner you have the surgery, the sooner you will feel like a new person. It's going to be wonderful.

I agree. The waiting is the hard part. It's always good to get in early and get it done.

Re: My surgery got moved up! (Omg!)

I was kinda thinking the same thing. Now there are so many Christmas activities that I am pretty sure I can make it to that were questionable before. I was just afraid my symptoms had raised red flags at the doctor's office. He knew I wanted that surgery done "yesterday" so I'm pretty sure that's why they moved it up. Yet another reason I love my doctor.

Re: My surgery got moved up! (Omg!)

I had to call my dr about a refill yesterday. I told him I was sorry about needing the meds. He said "dont be sorry! We moved your surgery up, this is about all we can do until then." So now I know why he moved it up...

Re: My surgery got moved up! (Omg!)

Hi Weagle

When I was experiencing continuing and increasing pain before my surgery, my doctor told me that it would be better for me to have surgery early than to have prescription pain medications for the time I had to wait.

The date change should put you on the road to recovery all the sooner, and I hope you're able to enjoy the holidays!
