Lower back pain

I have nagging lower back pain that won't go away.
I had a DaVinci TLH on Nov. 13th.
I am doing light housework and cooking now.
I rest in between things but rest doesn't seem to help.
I am not lifting anything over 10 lbs as per the doctor's orders.
Tylenol and ibuprofen don't seem to help.
I did see a chiro. once per week prior to surgery: maybe that is why I hurt in my back.
What works on an aching back? Do a lot of sisters have a nagging lower back pain? No amount of pillows or anything seems to help.
Any suggestions?

Re: Lower back pain

the only thing that worked for me is a heating pad. I even went out and purchased an adapter so that i could use it in the car. This is the first week of 7 that I have not had to use it daily so hopefully things are looking up.

Re: Lower back pain

They put us in some pretty uncomfortable positions according to my doc. My shoulder was really messed up.

Hang in there,

Re: Lower back pain

Ditto on the lower back pain. I'm 3 weeks post-op from DaVinci LAVH. It comes with the swelly belly and is the signal to rest. I am sleeping with pillows under my legs and have pillows behind my back when sitting. Try to spend a day or two mostly resting, and pace yourself during the day. We are using back muscles more now, so if we do more, it's straining our back muscles.

Re: Lower back pain

I have read elsewhere here on the site that many of us have some low back pain in/after a few weeks. Yesterday I started having some aching too, and I'm not quite 3 weeks post-op. Quite normal apparently! I've moved my heating pad from my tummy to my back now.

Re: Lower back pain

I started having back pains as well. I am 1 month post op and I started feeling the aching in between week3 and 4. I take my Motrin for it. I hope this doesn't last much longer

Re: Lower back pain

Any new or increasing pain, either way, should be discussed with doc's office.

Re: Lower back pain

I have that too. I was told I'm overdoing it, I had a LAVH with rectecele repair on 11/23/09. The heating pad definately helps, they have these Therma wraps you can buy that activate once exposed to air and you can wrap around you and they last 8 hours, or a heating pad works too. Ibuprofen also helps.
