Pain Pain Go Away...~7 days post-op?Sound Familiar?

I have the worst pain all over tonight!?? I had my first BM today. LAVH was on 11/19. So it's been a week now, Coffee worked and everything came out normal, but I've been in pain since? Sharp pains shooting all over my stomack. I don't know if it's gas or what, but it hurts really bad. I can't get comfortable, can't stand up straight, can't fart, nothing. Pain pills won't even work. Happy Thanksgiving To Me. Boo HOo~! Is this normal? What's a Girl to Do?

Hugs To All

Sorry to hear it's not such a sunny day, Sunny!

Gas pains are the worse! And for me they were (and still are sometimes) all over my stomach and pain pills did nothing. Try Gas-X and/or peppermint tea. Try frequent short walks. I also kept a small pillow pressed into my abdomen while walking and usually while sitting down - that gentle pressure may help, too. Also, try going back to a bland diet to eliminate any gassy foods. I take a Gas-X at bedtime just to try to stay ahead of things.

Good luck and keep us posted!

I had horrible gas pains in my abdomen ....after having a bm the pain would even go up my back...I found that sitting on a heating pad just after using the restroom really helped!!

Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

It sounds very normal. The gas pains were the worst part of the surgery for me. The gas-x helps a bit & peppermint & Chamomile tea also can help. Do a little bit of walking each hour to keep things moving. It will get better.

my gas pains lasted for almost 2 weeks.....my surgery was on 11/13 and I'm just now feeling better in regards to the gas! Prilosec worked WAY better then the gas-x.

Good luck and hugs

I took 2 stool softners (colace) and ate a fiber one bar (with extra fiber) and although it is gross, I was able to pass a lot of gas and let me tell you how much better I felt after. All that gas just burbling away inside of you is so painful! ask your Dr. for a stool softner and get some fiber one plus bars. They really help!!!

Re: Pain Pain Go Away...~7 days post-op?Sound Familiar?

hi..i'm 12 days post op, and i continue to experience those pains as well. it's hard to figure out if it's gas or incision pain. as far as my body goes, i noticed that the gas pains were much more bubble like, and deep set. it made my tummy area feel very heavy. the incision pains, feel more like stinging jabbing pain that come and go.

for my gas pain i used "phazyme" it worked pretty quick. i felt instant releif.
for incision pain, i used tylenol.

good luck!
