hyster next week

Hi, I've had a long history of pelvic pain due to fibroids, endometriosis and now adenomyosis. Next week I'm having a TLH (total laparo hyster, keeping ovaries I hope) I'm nervous, but looking forward to having a decent quality of life. I realised the other day that my whole adult life has been dominated by terrifying and excruciating pain. From the soothing taste of disprin in the sick room at school (yes, I loved the taste & the relief that followed soon after) with the nurse hovering & offering soothing, clucking compassionate gestures, to managing University lectures & exams, to the chaos of family life when you can't get out of bed to get your child to school. Not to mention my career that stalled, while my peers have gone on to do amazing things. Really, at this stage, I have nothing to lose. I'm looking forward in the future to having a tummy that feels empty, and losing the 16 week pregnancy bulge that I've developed in the past 2 years. This past week I have planted seeds in preparation for our vegetable garden which I'm hoping I will now be able to bend over to tend to, without grimacing in pain. (This prospect is very exciting)Basically, I'm fed up, and am wondering & excited about life on the other side.
