Anyone else peeing this much?

So I had a vaginal hysterectomy Tuesday. I am 6 days post op. Part of my surgery was to resuspend my bladder and do an anterior and posterior repair.
The question I have is this...Why am I getting up to pee every 1 1/2 hour during the night? I know my bladder had some trauma so it is sore and hurts to pee. But I never got up more than once a night when my uterus had prolapsed. I thought this was supposed to get better not worse!
Is this just because I'm so close out of operation? Is anyone else having this problem?
Thanks!

Re: Anyone else peeing this much?

I didnt have any bladder issues but i was up every 45 minutes or so for the 1st week, maybe because everything is swollen and there is added bladder pressure because of it. I am 3 weeks out now and am back to normal.

good luck

Re: Anyone else peeing this much?

Thanks for the reply The nurse talked with me Sunday and asked if I was urinating ok and I said, yes...just a lot! But it is not burning so I know it is not a UTI (have had plenty of those in the past.) Glad to hear that this is not permanent. I was wondering what in the world I had done to myself!

Re: Anyone else peeing this much?

It actually can be a UTI without burning. But if it is not getting worse or is at least getting a little better (and the nurse knows how often you had to get up at night), then sounds like you're in the clear. ;-)
