No appetite since surgery

Has anyone else lost their appetite since surgery? I haven't felt like eating anything since Nov. 11th when I had my LAVH. I am trying to make sure to have something to eat when it should be meal time since I have lost about 8 pounds and don't want to continue to lose weight. I am thinking that maybe I am not hungry due to the fact that I am taking it easy and not really doing anything throughout the day. Just wondering if this is something that anyone else is experiencing.

Re: No appetite since surgery

I too lost my appetite and lost 10 pounds so far. I had a TAH on nov 5th. I try to have at least a little something a few times a day, but rarely does it equal a meal. It does seem to be better this week, so hoping it is coming back. No naseua, just no appetite.

Re: No appetite since surgery

I had surgery on Nov 5th and couldn't eat for 3 weeks. I have a few bites of food a couple of times a day now. I've noticed that I don't smell or taste anything too. It is probably from all the drugs from the surgery.

Re: No appetite since surgery

I to lost mine, I am at 9 weeks post op and it is finally coming back. Try eating some yogurt it goes down easy and is good for you since it has good protiens, maybe even a little side of eggs. Just try to eat anything you can, its better then nothing at all. Take care hun and things will get better, eventually

Re: No appetite since surgery

I am 5 weeks post SAH BSO and my appetite has tanked. When I asked my doctor about this at my 3 week visit he was unconcerned. Since I'm burning so few calories I don't need many. From all the posts I've read, it seems to be pretty common.

Re: No appetite since surgery

Lost my appetite when I had a hysterectomy on September 1st. Wish I could continue not feeling hungry. I guess this is normal reaction after surgery. Not quite sure.
