4 weeks post-op - VERY tired

I'm 34y/o - just had total hyst (including cervix). I went through the normal first 2 week pain, gas, painful "movements", etc and then started feeling normal. I'm about 4.5 weeks post-op now and have been sleeping for the past three days and still feel tired.

I was at the drug store earlier today and got the cold sweats and started paniking, thinking I was going to be sick or that I had to use the washroom but the feeling went away when I got back to the car. I did get physically sick once two days ago and that was the first time I had thrown up in about 16 years!!! Not sure if this is normal post-op or I might have a bug. I don't have any symptoms except that I'm tired.

Re: 4 weeks post-op - VERY tired

I'm about 4 1/2 weeks post op too and VERY tired. Last weekend, I slept 11 hours a night and took a nap during the day. I have been back at work full time so I figure I am just wearing myself out.
If you continue to have the vomiting, I'd call your doc and check in.

Re: 4 weeks post-op - VERY tired

I'm 33 and I also had a total hyst (including cervix) and i'm 3.3 weeks post op. I have been very tired this week especially. I've gotten sick twice this week and even had a low grade fever too. My doctor said that it was okay and that I should call back if my fever got higher. I'm actually still in pain too. Not as much as the first two weeks but I can't sit up straight or stand up for more than 30 minutes at a time seems before I feel horrible all over. So spend most of my time sleeping just so that I don't feel any discomfort.

Re: 4 weeks post-op - VERY tired

Thanks for the replies ladies. For the most part I can't even tell that I had the surgery now. I'm still being careful and not doing too much, but the tiredness is driving me nuts - I hope it goes away!

Re: 4 weeks post-op - VERY tired

Hi Kinclaven, I am 5wks 2days post op and I felt like you at week 4. Very very tired so I would sleep all day, all night and then I would have one good day followed by 2 tired ones. This week is better 2 days with no naps and a normal bedtime feeling great and yesterday was a very tired day again. This seems to be the pattern for many of us. If you can sleep, sleep. Follow what your body is asking for. It is all normal and it will pass. Happy healing to you and all the other sisters out there

Re: 4 weeks post-op - VERY tired

Hello everyone. I am 5 weeks postop and know exactly how you feel. I had my 2nd f/u appt today and told doc I went to store yesterday and came home took a 4 hour nap then went to bed early and slept another 10 hours. I am not a sleeper and this surgery has forced me to sleep. This is how our bodies heal so keep sleeping and enjoy it.

Take Care.
