found lump in breast today/lynch disease

Hi, I went to the oncologist today and they told me I most likely have lynch syndrome but since I had a hysterectomy and therefore can't have children (and my insurance is cheep and doesn't pay for it), I won't have the genetic test to find out for sure but they acted like they are pretty sure I have it.
Also, they discovered a lump in my left breast and I will have a mammogram done (my first one) so that was like oh boy here we go again.
Anyway, doing ok considering. Just feel so numb to everything. I have a depression screening on Monday. Today is a good day though...not feeling "depressed" but if my experiences with depression have taught me anything it is depression is much more than being sad and I have all the other symptoms like difficulty concentrating and am feeling very fatalistic. I really don't feel like I have control of anything and am having a hard time caring one way or the other.
Anyway, merry Christmas to you all and will let you know how things go...
Wendy

Wendy - I don't know much about lynch syndrome, but together with finding a lump, I think feeling numb would be a normal reaction! All the best as you go through your screening - I'm hopeful that you can enjoy your holidays!
