prolapse repair, over did it and hormonal

Had surgery for pelvic prolapse, bladder, vaginal, and rectal on 11/30. My hysterectomy was 11 years ago and at that time I kept my ovaries. I decided that this time the ovaries could go. I was recovering really well for 2 weeks, taking 1/4 mile walks, etc. I was feeling so great that day 16 I went to coffee with friends in the morning and went to visit my tennis buddies in the evening and went to the grocery store. The next day, still feeling great, went to the mall to stroll since it was pouring rain. I had someone drive me. That night I felt exhausted. I stayed in bed or on the couch for 4 days and I still don't feel better! Hot flashes and night sweats have increased, I feel anxious and stressed and very emotional. I have no energy. No fever, no pain. I'm coming off my vicodin and down to 3 half tabs per day, but still taking my motrin. My anxiety and tightness in the back and chest are not unlike the horrible hormonal issues I had just before my period started in my 30's. I'm 57. Any suggestions?

I had my repair surgery Nov. 18 and I am still taking it easy. If I overdo it, I am exhausted and it will take me a day or so to rebound.

I'm sorry you're having a rough time. I don't have any suggestions as I'm a newbie to all this (my surgery was last Tuesday). Just wanted to offer you cyber hugs and hope that you feel better soon.

thanks for the replies and cyber hugs. I think the hot flashes that seem to come one after another all night aren't helping me get the sleep I need. Thanks again.

Re: prolapse repair, over did it and hormonal

Contacted my doctor and he put me on 1 mg estradiol, two pills today, then one per day. Those 57 year old ovaries that we left in 9 years ago when my uterus was removed still packed a little punch. After this reconstruction we decided to remove them and I must have plunged into hormonal shock. I feel better just knowing why I'm feeling so awful. More couch time. Thanks for the support.
