Taste Buds

Has anyone's taste buds changed since they've had their hysterectomy???

Everything is SO salty now...before I used to always add extra salt, but not any more!

Re: Taste Buds

I have yet to get my full appetite back...been 1 month. I have lost 30lbs though...wooohoooo! Mass was 15lbs, so that helped!

Re: Taste Buds

My taste buds were different after my hyster. I think it had something to do with the meds, anesthesia, and the shock to the system of the surgery. Now i am almost 6 months out and my taste are back like they were (however I wish the sugar taste bud would take a break - not enjoying this extra 7 pounds). Congrats on your surgery and making to this side.

Re: Taste Buds

I was just saying the same thing. I can barely eat my favorite chips now. Everything is too salty.

Re: Taste Buds

Hi~ I noticed the change in taste too. I think this is caused by the medication.

Re: Taste Buds

I also noiced a change in taste, but stopped smoking 1 week before surgery haven't had one in 3weeks! That may have something to do with it?

Re: Taste Buds

I noticed the same about salt just today... I had some rice with gravy and just about choked because it tasted so salty! Everyone else said it tasted just fine, so I guess we are all weird! lol I wonder why the docs don't know about this and mention it...
