desperate

I am so aggravated at myself my surgery was scheduled for dec 29th i went the day for preop and freaked out my ekg reading went crazy i had chest pain and hyperventilated they canceled my surgery rescheduled for june 15th i have to go back feb 5th to see how much my fibroids have grown the way i feel now i dont know if i am ever going to get the courage to have the surgery the doc feels my ekg reading that was abnormal was due to anxiety. can anyone help me

The doctor can prescribe anti anxiety medication-such as lorazepam. Sorry you had to go through this. Why do you have to wait until June?

Sorry to hear this happened to you. Definitely talk to your Dr. about anti-anxiety drugs like xanax. If you haven't made it to one of the pre-op chats you might want to try that and see if additional knowledge helps you. You can find the dates by looking at the right side of the screen.

Don't forget to change your surgery date in your profile since that triggers access to certain items like post-op forums.

I'm sorry, Annie, that's very frustrating for you. I agree with Vcaz and TaurasLady that the doctor should be able to give you some anti-anxiety meds. Did you read the thread I started about guided imagery? That might help you calm down too. June seems a long ways off and a long time to wait and worry. I hope things work out for you. Please keep us updated as to how you are feeling.
