Anyone post menopausal with fast growing fibroid?

Anyone postmenopausal with a fast growing "fibroid"? Mine was discovered at 6cm, size of a small orange and in 1 month progressed to almost double in size. My gyn/onc is concerned for malignancy. I went to him since he is a davinci surgeon, who now won't due davinci due to concerns for grinding up potential cancer cells and needs to remove this thing whole, which I agree is a good idea.
I doubt that it is a fibroid, ran out of estrogen 5 years ago, how could a fibroid grow with no estrogen to feed it?? Afraid for leiomyosarcoma but certain it is likely some kind of cancer and trying to deal with it. This is my first surgery ever and more scared about that!! Surgery on 1/7/10, can't wait to get it over with. Need prayers and support.

I certainly can feel your concern about this, but in answer to your question,
there are other sources of estrogen apart from ovaries.
The bodies fatty tissues can produce estrogen, and depending on the amounts of xs fatty tissues you have, you can still have high estrogen levels.
