abdominal binder or support panties? In 5th week?

I had the full 5 inch bikini cut and inside cut from belly button down, 4 very large fibroids and many other small ones -- he did not cut any muscles but seperated them, I have both ovaries and my cervix still -- I am very swelly and still have lots of discomfort-- because itis so late in the process and I have been back to work for 2 two weeks now, I wonder if I would get much use of the abdominal binder? I have started walking on my treadmill and am looking forward to working out - i know i am not ready yet - anyhow would the support panties do the trick or should i get the binder? and how long with it be a benefit? is it much more of a benefit then panties? thank so much ladies -- love and healing to you all - In Christ.

Re: abdominal binder or support panties? In 5th week?

I was using my binder in the beginning but now at over 6 weeks I just use the support panties, I think at this early stage of healing you do need support but just use what you feel comfortable with. I'll just be glad when I don't need the support but that will come in time. Happy healing

Re: abdominal binder or support panties? In 5th week?

I had laproscopic surgery. I enjoyed my abdominal binder my Dr. prescribed while I was in the hospital. I wore it 24/7 for 5 weeks. Then I switched to ligtweight support panties.

Re: abdominal binder or support panties? In 5th week?

I have been switching back and forth between support panties and my abdominal support ( which is actually a back support that I found at the drugstore). If I am out for a longer walk or shopping I wear the binder. I am also planning on wearing it when I return to work in a few weeks as I am a dental assistant.

I do find that by the end of the day I don't want anything on me and hang out in my roomy pj bottoms.

Hope this helps,

K

As far as the support panties, do you folks get the real high ones? I see them in the store, but am not sure how comfortable they would be? Do you have any brand names you like?

Re: abdominal binder or support panties? In 5th week?

I've always liked wearing boy shorts or mid-rise briefs underwear but since my surgery, nine days ago, I've decided to get me some really high panties that cover my belly button. Even the modest underwear I own irritates my incisions. So I'd say, yes, the high waisted underwear is comfortable. I like the cotton Jockey brand as they seems soft and well-made.

The Bali brand support panties (yes - high waist) are awesome
