4 months post op still so tired and losing hair fast

Hello - so hoping not to feel so tired still - but am coming home from work and am sleeping for two hours then cooking etc. and then sleep for a further 8 hours - is anyone else like this ? also losing hair (used to have such thick hair) quite upset by this ! have been on HRT (Climaval (Estradiol Valerate) for one month now - has anyone else had either of these symptoms please - would really put my mind at rest.

Thankyou x
Tumble (TAH +ovaries removed 9th Sept. 2009)

Call Doctor to change your meds...the only time I lost hair was with the wrong dose of meds like that. Don't hesitate, call today. Good Luck!

Re: 4 months post op still so tired and losing hair fast

Hi Tumble. I had my TAH in mid May, and I still have days where I am dog tired! I think that its to be expected at your point in your recovery. exercise is a great thing, but if you find too tired, I'd talk to your doctor. I also had an issue with hair loss, to the point of losing 30-40 strands in the bottom of the tub, on the floor every day. My doctor suggested vitamin D as my level was on the low side. you may want to have them check this with a simple blood test. I'm now only losing around 5 strands now! good luck!

how are your iron levels? both fatigue and hair loss can be affected by low iron.

also, have you had your thyroid checked recently? low thyroid can also explain both of those symptoms.
