4 week post op appt today, 8 more weeks for sex

I saw the doctor today for my follow up, it is 4 weeks since my surgery. She asked how I was feeling and I told her finally great. She didn't do an internal, nothing. She told me I can go back to work next week just no heavy lifting, which I don't do anyway. She doesn't want to see me again until Next Year.

The only thing is she told me she wants me to wait another 8 weeks for intercourse. I don't think I can do it. She said that she doesn't want anything to happen to the vaginal cuff she made, but 8 more weeks, I think I will explode before then.

I wish I wasn't so embarrassed to ask if I could at least have outer vagina stimulation.

12 Weeks without sex, I can't do it.

You can always call and ask the question that way they won't see you blush. I asked my dr about external stimulation while I was still in the hospital and she said that was fine. I had my TAH/BSO 12/22. I am not sure I am ready for it yet but know soon we will. My DH can not even watch a sex scene on movies right now. And I think he is afraid to touch or hug me to tight right now.

I hate that I was to embarrassed. Maybe I will call and leave a message with her nurse. I also need to know when I can start exercising again, so I may throw that in too, LOL.

Todays appt was very vague. I think because I had seen for 3 times before post op because of being in such sever pain and stomach puckering where the incision was.

Better to be embarassed and ask than do something that causes problems with your recovery. I only asked the dr since I had read some posts about people who did not wait and the problems it created with the vaginal cuff. I was afraid if we did something we should not have then I would be more embarrassed to go to the ER with a torn vaginal cuff.
Hang in there. I figure they have been asked before so we are not first to ask.
