Da Vinci dermoid cyst removal went well!

I had my surgery on Friday and go home late Saturday. I am sooo very glad I stayed in the hospital the first night. I had a catheter and a surgical drain when I woke up. The doc was able to salvage my ovaries (again) I am so happy. I did have a lot scar tissue and adhesions however and so my surgery was more extensive than we had expected. I have 5 little bitty incisions on my belly and 1 internal vaginal incision which is how they removed everything. I will be back with more info when I feel a bit better.

How long did your surgery take?

I think it was 2.5 hours I have to ask my husband though.

Sorry it took me so long my husband said it was 3 hours or a bit more before the doc came out and talked to him .

Yes my surgery was done laparoscopically with the da vinci robot. All the matter that was removed was taken out via colpotomy(vaginal incision ).

This was my second round of dermoid cysts and my doc recommended hysterectomy this time because of the reccurent cysts and adenomyosis. But he was able to save both ovaries since our family is not yet complete.
