Rectocele Surgery

I feel like all I read are negative stories about a rectocele repair. I am scared to death about the surgery. Is there anyone who has had a positive experience. I have already had a TVH with a TVT sling for the bladder. What is the best way to secure everything so you don't have a reprolapse. Thank you

Re: Rectocele Surgery

Little Red--

You may want to do a Google Search on the site [in the blue rectangle at the top right of the page] using the word 'posterior' instead of 'rectocele'. Many women have this surgery in addition to their hysterectomy and recover well and quickly. They just don't post here in this forum about it. I'm sure you'll find positive posts when you do this [I did and it works.]

Hope you recover fast!

Re: Rectocele Surgery

I had rectocele repair with the hysterectomy and TOT sling, all surgeries done on 12/29. I am doing well, just taking stool softener twice a day. But it already feels better there, so I'm hoping it's all good. But definitely already seems better!

Re: Rectocele Surgery

I had a rectocele repair with Hyst. 2.5 months out and still feel some pain in back wall between vag and rectum. I am still very happy with my repair. Pre surgery I had to use hand to hold pressure to help with BM.

Re: Rectocele Surgery

Thank you for your information...........do you know what the Dr. did to reinforce your prolapse so it will last. My anterior has relaxed some and I just don't want that for the back when I have it done thanks
