Weight Frustrations!

So I stepped on the scales again today and was up the 3.5 lbs I had lost just a week ago! I'm so frustrated! My dinners are probably a little bigger than what they should be, but my breakfast and lunch are both small. My snacks are almonds (only a few) and prunes! We lost an organ for crying out loud, shouldn't we weight less just because of that??

Sorry...just needed to vent!

Re: Weight Frustrations!

I hear ya, sister! Especially with possibly enlarged organs, fibroids, etc.... you would think those weigh more too ahhaha

we just got to deal with it for now until our bodies are healed enough to find other ways to lose/maintain weight. Right now, your body needs the energy from hopefully nutritious food to heal.

Re: Weight Frustrations!

Hi
I understand what you are talking about. I gained a lot of weight after my surgery, I take a daily dose of fiber and eat less plus I am exercising on a regular basis yet I can't seem to loose the weight. I have been thin all my life now I am nearly 200lbs. I don't get it and don't know how to fix it. It is frustrating. Just wanted to say hi and that I understand.

Re: Weight Frustrations!

I have a rule, I don't count any weight gain or loss unless it is more than 10lbs. I've learned that my body can lose or gain up to 5 lbs in a day, depending on how much fluids, salt or food I've had, and depending how often I've gone to the bathroom, had a BM, etc. I've decided not to bother worrying about weight until I've recovered from the surgery, it's just one more stress I don't need. When my body feels normal again, I will start concentrating on how it looks.

Re: Weight Frustrations!

I don't blame you I did't worry about it either after my surgery which was 2 years ago. Now I am trying to get back into shape other than round lol.

Re: Weight Frustrations!

You are pretty close to your surgery, some of the weight that you gained could be because of all of the fluid they push when you are in the hospital. I was only in the hospital for 1 day and they pushed 5 liters of fluid. When I came home, I had gained a few pounds....and really didn't eat anything much while I was in the hospital.

Have you started walking yet? That might help to move more of the fluid through your system as well as help with some of your weight loss goals. Definitely take it easy!
