night sweats, hot flashes

I'm 5days post op on TAH. Last night I woke up at 1:30 sweating and chilling for about 2 hrs. Now I'm up at 2:30am with the sweating again. I wasn't wanting to take any HRT but if this is what I'm going to experience every night I won't be able to get up in the morning to go to work... Starting to feel depressed about this.

Perhaps if you called your Dr with your symptoms, he could give you something to help you through this difficult time.

I too, have recently experienced surgical menopause (TVH BSO 3 weeks ago). My insomnia, mood swings, and hot flashes were enough to convince me to start HR which I did last week. The only thing I hate is that the patch is so big (a couple of inches across). Since it's worn on the lower abdomen or buttocks, it's not a real problem (the "bikini" was thrown out a few years back). I would suggest you talk with your doctor. She/he won't be surprised by your symptoms and can provide you with options. Good luck dear Hyster Sister and many hugs.

I had cervical cancer. Everything went. Got good news today no chemo or radiation needed. I'm going to make an appt with my obgyn for HRT because I can't function. I've been having problems the last 4 days with my stomach. I can't eat or drink very little. I ended up in ER last night. The today I sat for 5 hrs getting fluids trying to get my nausa in control. Nightmare!!
