Congested Uterus???

Greetings All,

I am 42 and scheduled for TAH/ooph March 4. My major malfunctions are a "Congested Uterus" and "complex" 2 cm RT OV cyst that is causing a great deal of pain. I have done my homework and am comfortable with my decision, though my GYN indicated that this will not permanently cure the Congested Uterus - I have "marked dilatation" of the veins - causing severe fatigue and leg pain. Though, she agrees with passing on the Ovarian Embolization (coils/stents for the Congested Uterus) in favor of the "2 birds - 1 stone" approach.

The kicker is that I have been experiencing ALL (early & late stage) OVCA symptoms since last spring. I have not pushed the Drs. for a CA-125 because I figure it's all coming out anyway... we shall see.

I fully acknowledge the TVU and CT results showing the "Congested Uterus" but, that has to do with the veins. What I don't get is: why the frequent urination, 7+ mos. of diarrhea; back pain; abdominal swelling and total loss of appetite/weight??? My CT also showed 2 small spots on my spleen and a "small amount of free fluid".

Any other Congested Uterus ladies out there?

Re: Congested Uterus???

Hbg--

It sounds like you have a LOT going on. But seriously, if you have ovarian cancer signs, those are NOT to be ignored whether or not 'all' is coming out. Cells can be left behind and it's never something to be ignored, ever. If it were me, I'd go check out symptoms and such on the cancer concerns forum here. I'd definitely let my doctor know and ask to have whatever tests s/he thought appropriate. That kind of thing doesn't just go away.

I'm not sure of the 'congested uterus' diagnosis. I am not familar with that term either. However, anything that causes more blood to flow into the pelvic area could potentially give you many of those symptoms you describe. This is also something to be further discussed with your doctor.

The idea that my spleen would be involved would worry me, too. Have you gotten at least a 2nd (if not 3rd) opinion?

Sending you many +++ thoughts and extra good vibes..........
