intimacy question

hi,
I just had a full hysterectomy with endo 4 weeks ago.. I am very nervous about orgasms actually more like depressed. Does anyone have any good outcome out of this procedure with the o??

Yes, not a problem here. As long as your estrogen levels are kept at a good place, Os are not an issue.

Different women will have different experiences when it comes to intimacy following a hysterectomy. Some of it will depend on whether or not you also had an oophorectomy (removal of the ovaries).

I had a complete hysterectomy but not an oophorectomy and orgasms have been fine for me. Granted, with no uterus I no longer have uterine contractions with them. But I am okay with that. I did what was best for my health and was willing to sacrifice a bit of pleasure if need be to make me more healthy.

The key will be to wait until you are released by your doctor and then take things slowly. It may take a little time for things to be as fulfilling as you wish. If you do have issues, don't hesitate to discuss them with your doctor.

If you also had an oophorectomy, then you need to determine if HRT is right for you. With a history of endometriosis, your doctor might feel that avoiding HRT is best. If that is the case, plan to talk to your doctor about how to deal with surgical menopause issues.
