Im sorry but....Xanex is a beautiful thing!!!!

I hope some of you don't get offended but....I am a week away from my total abdominal hyst (don't know abbreviations), w/ removal of right ovary and tube!!! And yes, I am total wreck! I too have been like a maniac cleaning my house, cleaning out closets and cellars, cleaning stoves, etc. I talked to my DR today and he did tell me that it would be just fine if I had to take xanex between now and then. I asked him..."Once a day?", and he laughed and said of course. After I took it I felt so much better, relaxed for the first time in weeks. I had my period all last week and had to take the percocet, so of course I didn't want to take the xanex as well! Surely needed it though! Anyways, I realized after taking one today..."what in the world are you freaking out about Mary? You will be this calm and relaxed as things are about to happen in the OR. What is your probelm???? RIGHT??? I feel alot better. I was given them for anxiety attacks in the past. Funny thing, only had them w/ each period! I think they work wonders!!! Expecially at a time like this. I figure, if I don't stop and slow down now, for the next 8 days, I may be so physically and emotionally exhaused that something could go wrong. Ive done everything I possibly can to prepare, and now its time to relax and take it easy! Thanks for listening! Have a wonderful day, and to all the ladies in waiting, like me, Good luck. We will do alright im sure!!!! Thanks!

There's nothing wrong with taking alittle something to help you calm down. My doctor wont give me anything. He says I'm a strong person and I'll be fine.

Ofcourse I'm just hoping to still be married after my surgery finally gets here with the way I treat my husband sometimes. I love him so much it makes me cry even more after I've been nasty.

Oh well. wishing you the best.

Dear Ladies!

I see Mary that you and I are going in on the same day, I would love to be cleaning like crazy but after "trying" to work all day I don't have the energy, I am off of work as of Friday so I hope to get alot accomplished this weekend!!

I wish I could get something from my Doctor to help clear up my head! Are any of you in like a constant fog?? I hate it, my mind is never this foggy and its driving me crazy, I think its due to the upcoming surgery, I hope!!

Doreen I hope all goes well with you, won't be able to let you know how things went because not do to come home till Saturday but will be looking for your post after you come home!!

Good luck both of you and Mary we only have a week to go!!!

Oh Yes... Indeed..A Calming Cocktail...

Mary I can very well relate. I've been taking anit-anxitey med for a long time, of course monitored by my dr. I'm currently on Ativan which helps me alot... And I'm already a "clean-a-holic, lol..my dh always looks at me like I'm nuts...But there's nothing wrong with having to take something to have the release of the peace of mind, and your body being calm & relaxed... Hugssss

I'm the Xanaz Queen!!

Hi Mary, Just kidding, but, I had taken xanax for years. Only when needed, for anxiety, which probably is a couple times a month. But, I too, seemed to be popping more of these things before my surgery. It's understandable, the anxiety you are feeling. I remember, driving down the road, and forgetting where I was supposed to be going. My mind was just always on the upcoming surgery. So just hang in there, and take your xanax, the waiting is absolutely the worst part of this whole thing. Just be sure that it is ok to take before your surgery. Pretty sure that I was allowed to the night before, but check with your doc. So, good luck to you and relax, you'll feel so much better after this. Also, stay on this site, without out these women on here, I probably would have never be post op today. I always came off the computer with a positive attitude. If you hav'nt been in the chat room, get in there, it is great also. Again, best of luck to you on your surgery and recovery, it's almost over, and all uphill after that.

Don't be sorry............you're just going to find out how much company you have.

I've been taking incredibly low doses of Celexa for about 2 years....odd that the need arrived about the time perimenopause did!? Let's not forget the hormones(from our various and sundrie illnesses) wreck havoc on our minds as well the pain and grossness of it all! (men could never handle this stuff!) I do not consider seeking help a weakness; actually maybe a bit of a strenght to acknowledge the reality!

Peace to you all........I'm in my final DAY......yippee!

You're sweet

If I may ask what is "OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"

Is that your nerves on my behalf

The only thing I'm nervous about is I have done nothing constructive since I got up - late! but sit here and type stuff and read stuff. I read about girls like yourself who are getting so much done.....where can I buy that gumption!

Ta-ta for now....going to go stare at the vacuum cleaner and see if I can will it to move!

And good luck to you with your pre-op. I don't have to do any of that.......I guess they'll descend upon me at the hospital with razor and what-not before. I feel the less time before surgery the less they can shave and enema (I don't think that's a verb but I don't know what the verb for that is - cleanse I guess. What a stupid euphamism)

Have only got one thing of housework done....I learned I cannot will the vaccuum to move on it's own. The rest of my time has been spent chasing down my kitten (husbands newest foundling) and giving him a time out in the dog crate as he's beating up my geriatric cats.
THe hospital is some ways will be respite from the wild game preserve we call a home!

Peace to all!
