Unhappy - Do "extremely" elevated testosterone + symptoms = ovarian cancer? Do "extremely" elevated testosterone + symptoms = ovarian cancer?

I am 47, have had 3 children and had a hysterectomy with removal of my right ovary in 2008. Now after several months of lower left abdominal pain and the discovey of extremely elevated (doctors words) testosterone and a test to determine that the testosterone was being geneated by my remaining ovary, am facing surgery to have it removed. The tumor can be clearly seen on ultrasound inside the ovary. The ovary is approx 5 cm with the tumor measuring 2.5 cm. As if these issues were not enough, I am also experiencing the other symptoms of ovarian cancer (i.e., constipation, indigestions, extreme fatigue, urinary changes, etc.). I am wondering what the chances are that the tumor is malignant given the level of testosterone and other stuff. I am also wondering what to expect with the onset of the medically induced menopause. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Do "extremely" elevated testosterone + symptoms = ovarian cancer?

I wish I knew more about the symptoms you describe; I don't assume that they "equal" ovarian cancer. I hope you can try to stay calm and, corny as this sounds, visualize yourself being healthy. Did you have a CA125 test? This can give positive results with other conditions like endometriosis, but it is the test, I believe, used to get an idea if OC is present.
I have had a dermoid cyst on my right ovary for years; we have been taking ultrasound pictures of it every 6 months, and I just had my ovaries removed because it started to grow. It was about the size you mention; it was benign. I had pain, some urinary changes, some indigestion and a fairly high level of testosterone. Again, my cyst was benign. I meditated on it and visualized it and visualized myself healthy in advance of my surgery, and I was able to stay calm and to have a good result from the surgery and I am healing fast. Keep the faith! It's scary, and they will not know what is going on until they get in there, but fear and worry can cause all of the digestive and urinary symptoms you describe, and any mass can cause pain.

I wish you all the best!
