6 Years Post-Op and NO Sexual Desire

I am so saddened since my surgery I have had no sexual desire whatsoever. Where my husband and I used tobe intimate more than 3-4 times a week. It has now been over a year. What has replaced it is depression, anxieity, arguements (not about sex) and my marriage is on the verge of divorce.

Doctors say it is normal after this type of surgery (I had my cervix, ovaries and a hysterectomy performed) that I have no sexual desire.

I miss intimacy, I miss the wonderful sex I use to enjoy so very much.....

Any ideas, supplements, anything?????

Re: 6 Years Post-Op and NO Sexual Desire

Sorry Lady E -

I have had the exact same experience. My marriage (luckily) is still strong - but I feel it is very unfair for my poor husband. He says he doesn't wanna if I don't wanna - and he says he can tell the difference. He understands that it's not him and that I still love him sooo much...but...i've never been a faker - I'm not too good at it. Good luck in your search - I'm looking, too.

Re: 6 Years Post-Op and NO Sexual Desire

I wish I had an answer. I have been this way too. Hubby is so great and understanding but it just isn't fair for him. Really wish there was someone on here that has been able to address this issue and resolve it successfully.

Re: 6 Years Post-Op and NO Sexual Desire

Hi, I sure know what you're talking about....it's been years since I was even interested. My hubby is great but really misses me. I lost my best friend in Dec., she was 38, 4 kids and I stood/slept at her side, away from my 2 kids while she had chemo and a stem cell transplant. She had lung complications with graft vs host. We never thought it would end the way it did ! My mom died 4 weeks to the day after my buddy. So now I'm just here. I miss having and feeling sexual feelings/thoughts. Sometimes I think having that hysterectomy was the worst thing I ever did. I almost wish I was still suffering that awful pain at least I was still myself........

Re: 6 Years Post-Op and NO Sexual Desire

I just started a new post about this as well! I too wish I had not had the surgery. What a shame it has been for my husband and myself to have lost the ability to communicate sexual. I have been keeping very active so as to keep depression from my door, but must admit, I feel like only a shell of what I had been. I guess the loss was more than body parts, and truly wish someone had advised of this before surgery.

Re: 6 Years Post-Op and NO Sexual Desire

I hear ya all ladies, no sex desire at all, my husband thinks i don't like/love him no more, thinks that i find him repulsive, we sleep in separate rooms, our marriage is like friends with no benefits, but i do not regret the surgery, would do it again in a heart beet even though there was a lot of complications. Just wish there was a bit of desire again.

Re: 6 Years Post-Op and NO Sexual Desire

my man left me. said he did not want to live a life with no sex. I have vaginimus.
He left two weeks ago. He said he would come back if I would have surgery to "open it up" again.
How degrading to me that is.

Re: 6 Years Post-Op and NO Sexual Desire

Sisters, have you talked to your Dr about testosterone? It has made such a huge difference for me. I went from zero libido 7 months post-op, depression, anxiety, moodiness etc (marriage on the brink) to calm, up-beat and lots of libido. It was a struggle with the hormones but finally found a specialist who did bloodwork and now have estrogen/testosterone pellet inserts. Literally lifesaving for me. Talk to you dr!
