Seriously... I had no idea I would be swollen like this. 4 weeks post op and I look 6 month prego.

I see my surgeon on Friday- I have lots of questions for him- poor guy!

Oh no! I guess I'll be wearing sweatpants when I go back to work, huh?
I really didn't expect it to last this long, meaning that... I'm 6 days post op and I still look like I did on day 1. I thought it would've come down at least a little.
I hope your doc can give you some answers!

Re: Am I'm going to wear Spanx for the next 6 months to a year?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I had a TAH/BSO on Jan 25th and the more active I am the more I swell. When I started back to work at 2 weeks post op I got really big. I just assumed it was because I was doing too much too soon. Well today I saw dr for 6 week check and I am still huge, she said it will take anywhere from 3 to 6 months for the swelling from an abdominal hysterectomy to be gone for good ! By the end of the day, I have my pants unbuttoned. Thank goodness spring is here & I can start wearing skirts and sandals to work (easier to hide the belly). I am 5'7" and weight 135 but look like I am 5 months pregnant...

I still have swelly belly. I started wearing a more supportive underwear, and can now get into some of my pants. Be patient- it takes a while!

My TAH was 2/5/10. Still haven't worn anything except sweats. Can't imagine what I'll wear when I return to work. I read posts from others that they've lost weight. That hasn't happened with me. Just with the bloated feeling would go away.

yeah- I'm living in yoga pants- but have met with a few clients and done a few small studio sessions and wore my outfits that were a size larger from after I had my baby a few years ago.

I have lost 5lbs.... was down almost 10lbs- but now I am feeling better and eating more but not moving as much.

I am at 10 weeks post op and finally fitted back into a pair of shorts the other day. The swelling is still there but not nearly as bad as it was. I wore a stretchy skirt to work covered by a long top and lived in dresses at home that covered the tummy. Lucky it is summer here so didn`t need to worry about long pants fitting.

5 weeks still swollen I wear yoga pants everyday and wear light support underwear, boyshort like. The pressure of spanx seems to swell me up once i take them off! weird I lost like 16 POUNDS AND I CAN NOT fit into my jeans even the big ones I had O well it will take some time. It could be worse. Hang in there! HUGS
