what type of HRT do you use?Anyone use depo shot?

I recently recieved a shot for HRT. I am not sure what it's called a depo-something? is this the same as a birth control shot? please tell me your knowledge on this and any HRT as i am very new to this. thank you.

If I were you, I would call the Dr's office who ordered the injection, and ask them what the shot was and what it was suppose to do.

I use a compounded biestrogen/progesterone troche. There are many different ways to get HRT, so if one method doesn't work for you, don't give up.

I had a TAH/BSO on Jan 25. I am 43 years old and woke up in recovery with a Climara .1 patch for HRT.

I love it and have not had any problems.!

I had my trip to the castle on March 2nd and am trying samples of the vivelle dot patch .1

I had my hysterctomy on Nov 30th and they put me on the climera patch within 5 hours of my surgery. I haven't had any hot flashes or any other side effects. I really like it.

Several years ago I was on the Ortho Depo shot. It was wondeful except for the hunger and weight gain (13 lbs in one year)-one of the side affects. It stopped my period completely (that is why I was on it). But had to stop the shots due to the side effect for me (hunger and weight gain) Hugs and well wishes

(((mel1977))) I would suggest that you call your DR's office and ask what shot you were given. There are several shots with names that start with depo --- depo Provera, depo testadiol, depo estradiol, etc. (Depo refers to the delivery method, the next word is the actual medication)

I use Femring....gave myself depo estradiol shots for about 15 yrs.....am thrilled to have found Femring....the easiest delivery system ever.
