painful intercourse

Before I call my DR. for another appt. I was just wondering if any had pain after a hysterectomy? I had an LAVH on July 6th. My dr cleared us for intercourse Aug. 12th. It is a piercing pain that makes me want to scream! No blood, just stabbing pain everytime. If anyone has any info please let me know. Thanks! God bless you all!!

Hi TanaLea, I'm sorry you're having such a difficult time. I didn't have the problem that you are experiencing, but I wanted to tell you to go ahead and make that Dr's. appointment.

I've seen other ladies post about having similar problems, and some found that there was an undissolved stitch that the Dr. was able to remedy right in the office. Of course, I have no idea what is causing your problem, which is why you need to see your Dr. I just don't want to see you suffering.

I haven't been cleared for intercourse yet. At 5.5 weeks my doctor gave me a post-op check and it was painful. He said that in light of that I should wait until 8 weeks.

It seems that you are pretty far along in recovery and I would concur that calling him is a good idea.
