another surgery within 4 moths of hyst for ovarian cysts

Hi Ladies, I have been reading on here alot of having your ovaries taken out with months or a year after a hyst due to ovarian cysts.

Well, I am in the same boat and is wondering if you could share your stories to.

I am having surgery next week the 25th due to 2 large ovarian cysts, one is 3" and the other is about the same size. I only weigh 95pds and look like I am 4 months pregnant. This makes the 8th cyst I have had since my surgery in Nov 09' and they just keep getting bigger. The dr is taking out my ovary. (Already had the other one removed in 05' due to rupturing ovarian cysts every other month).

How do you determine if it is just an ovarian cysts or if it is an ovarian growth? This time it has been different. My stomach has been swollen like this for 2 weeks now day and night. I look like I am getting bigger or at least I feel like it. I feel alot of pressure and heaviness in my stomach and my lower back just aches. I ususally feel alot better after a cyst ruptures but i haven't with this one.( I had a larger one to rupture the week before I went to the dr and the pain has just gotten worse). I feel full quickly and have noticed at night time that I am thirsty alot more.

hi well i sure can relate to your symptons . i to have 8cm cyst swollen stomach all the time heaviness and pain in back going around to groin area. and thirst all the time not just at night ,

i have been swimming and going to the gym i go in pain come out great cant explain it only it works for me .and it lasts for few hrs . as soon as i get comfy on settee pain kicks in again .

I am 4 weeks post op (TAH, kept ovaries) but the last week has been tough, I have been rushed to ER twice with ruptured ovarian cysts (worse pain of my life), CT Scan and Ultrasound have confirmed I have a number of large complex bilateral adnexal cystic lesions on both ovaries so now I am scheduled for a second surgery next week to have ovaries etc. removed too - very frustrated!

I know surgeon and I hung onto my ovaries to avoid surgical menopause as I am not a candidate for hormone therapy (due to medical history), but now I wish they had taken everything out 4 weeks ago rather than me now having to get ready for a second surgery so soon.
