Is this normal-11 days post op

I am 11 days post op. I went to the store for the first time today since surgery. I rode in the motorized wheelchair. I felt like I was really dizzy with the movement. Is this normal? Also after getting home I seemed to be really tired. I did take a two hour nap. I am also wondering if the increase in discharge after my outing is because I was up too long or just normal? I know these are probably simple questions-just wondering.

Re: Is this normal-11 days post op

Sounds normal to me! Especially if you're still on pain meds (dizzy) Is it discharge or blood? Big difference. Our energy levels will be good one day, but the following two days, not so much! I think it's our bodies way of saying take it easy... if you're really worried, please call the Dr
I had mine on the 9th.. I'm still getting exhausted. Everyone is different.. Don't get discouraged by the other girls who are able to run and play within a week or two... just be happy for them.. they're lucky ducks hehehe

Feel better! Pamper yourself and always listen when your body wants a nap...

For about two weeks, I felt dizzy whenever I looked down at the ground.

Re: Is this normal-11 days post op

I was nowhere near ready to get out & about after just 11 days.

I think what you experienced is completely normal. I was dizzy off & on for weeks after surgery.

It's to be expected that you would be tired just 11 days after surgery. I took naps and laid around, in between walking in circles on the patio to relieve the gas & sitting pain, for 5 weeks before I tried to get myself back into a normal routine, like shopping. Just taking a shower & getting dressed really took it out of me. I spent the last week before going back to work just getting used to leaving the house again.

I recovered very well because I took the time to recover.

You need to rest right now, Sister. Please take it easy & take good care of yourself.

Re: Is this normal-11 days post op

I had the dizziness for the first two and half weeks. I also felt like my brain was foggy and it was hard to concentrate on things. I am almost 5 weeks post op and I still get tired if I over do it. Just take it easy and relax. Your body will let you know when you have done too much. Make sure to listen to it.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Hugs ~ Kristy

Re: Is this normal-11 days post op

It does sound normal for where you are in the recovery , but if you want to please call your doctor~ and see what they say.

My surgery was March 2nd and I still get tired easily . I listen to my body and rest .

If you are having fatigue or more pain your body is telling you to rest sitting or laying down. smile

Gentle hugs
