Why Does Sexual Arousal Cause Soo Much Cramping

HIya Sisters,

I'm 3 weeks out from a TAH. Some days I feel wonderful, some days I don't - So, I feel pretty "normal" I guess....

But, at the times I feel wonderful it would be nice to help my DH out once in awhile. No sex, just a "hand out" so to speak! LoL
I tried the other day and I had bad cramping after.... other girls have stated the same thing, but no one has ever said Why...

Why? Why? Why does this occur? Intimacy is a huge part of our lives!!

Same here only I am four weeks out! I know that the cramping is from muscle use. Even though we are not having penetration our bodies are still using internal muscles from being "excited". I does get better! My own personal knowledge. Just got the green light today for full activity! Yehhh!!! Dr. said to take it slow and easy and any discomfort to stop and wait and try again in a few days I hope this helps you.

Also think of the blood flow and increased vascular pressure in those tender, healing tissues. The blood doesn't circulate the way it used to in there- the dr sealed off the veins and cut through the tissue and cauterized them. I'm surprised arousal doesn't hurt for more people!

I also had cramping during arousal for the first couple months after my surgery. Arousal brings extra blood to tissues that are still healing.

Fortunately, this didn't last forever!

Yeah, I had more a dull soreness that just was very uncomfortable and burning feeling maybe. Hard to describe. Weird feeling. But it didn't last more than 6 weeks or so.

You guys were cleared for sex at 4 weeks? I haven't had my 4 week check up (that's on monday) but my dr told me 6 - 8 weeks full pelvic rest.

Oh no hon, we weren't cleared to have sex @ 4 weeks... just experimenting with partners, trying to keep them happy through this whole ordeal is all Mine is still soo helpful....

I watched an educational sex program on Discovery last night... Oh my word!! Soo many different emotions flowed through me during the program!! Happy, sad, anxious, worried... They said arousal starts in the brain. I just hope everything works again!!

The cramps and weird feeling during arousal is just strange!!!
I miss DH and we have been creative for his benefit.
Yesterday we were "caressing", still following all restrictions, but the sensations weren't what I expected. They weren't painful, just different. It is amazing how our bodies have reacted after having a hyst.
I'm still looking forward to the all clear in 2 1/2wks, I know DH is counting the days.
I must admit that the sexy comments and looks we give each other are fun.

Yesterday I was watching Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe and they were making mannequins using a real life model.... well, Mike Rowe being him, started touching and caressing the mannequin and I was soo like, "OMG I HAVE to stop watching this!! I mean, seriously, can Mike Rowe really turn me on playing with a mannequin!! OMG!!" lmao
