10 Days Post-op and terrified of my follow up visit
I am 10 days post op and and able to get around now but still on pain killers, I simply have to have them to do daily tasks and I have 4 kids to take care of as much as possible. Anyway, I am TERRIFIED of my post-op visit. I am SOOO sore still I dab ever so lightly to clean myself after using the restroom. I had my uterus and cervix removed, a HUGE rectocele repair, a bladder sling and urethra tack. The first several days were unbearable and Im almost done bleeding now but all I can think of is *** is he going to do to me friday at my visit.
Please help calm my nerves and tell me its not that bad.

Re: 10 Days Post-op and terrified of my follow up visit
I too was worried about whether he would do a pelvic exam at my 2 week post op. My gyn sat and talked with me about my questions and concerns and then he looked at my incision site and kinda poked on my belly, which was slightly uncomfortable at two weeks out. But, I was relieved he didn't have to mess with my hoohaa!!! I still don't want anyone or anything anywhere near it!!! Relax, don't worry about it! Save your strength for your kiddos!!! Let us know how things turn out!
ETA, I just realized we're neighbors!!!

Re: 10 Days Post-op and terrified of my follow up visit
I had a complete hysterectomy on March 2 but didn't have the other things done like you did. Since I had my cervix out I have a vaginal cuff.
I went for my first post op at 1 week and I was worried too. My doctor did do a physical exam but I really only had a slight discomfort.
Yesterday I had my second post op and there was no discomfort at all.
My doctor was very gentle too.
Each doctor is different and if I remember correctly some ladies say their doctor waits on the physical exam till later post op than mine did.
It may be uncomfortable but it won't last long and you can take your pain pills and that will help.
I hope that you won't have much discomfort at all.
I'm saying it's really not that bad, try to relax and write down any questions you may have for your doctor and take that with you. Gentle hugs

Re: 10 Days Post-op and terrified of my follow up visit
I am 2 weeks post-op and getting stronger every day. I still have a little pain and aching in my lower abdomen and right side but for the most part I am walking faster every day and it's also much easier to get in and out the bed.
My first visit was 1 week post-op and it was ok, no serious poking or anything. My doctor took the staples out looked at my incision, rubbed on my swollen belly and basically said I was healing good and everything looked fine. Don't worry the hardest part is over and that is the surgery itself.

Re: 10 Days Post-op and terrified of my follow up visit
I am almost 4 weeks post op I am getting around pretty well also. Still not bending much or reaching much but walking sitting and laying down are so much easier. I felt the same way about the pain meds. I still take one at night just to make sure I can sleep well and be rested for the next day. I saw my doc a week after surgery to remove staples and he just checked the site removed staples and added steri-strips. Then he let me off the table and set the new appt. No poking a proding in the nether region.

Re: 10 Days Post-op and terrified of my follow up visit
I am also going on two week post op this Friday. I am getting around better and I also see my doctor on Friday. Had a complete hyst w/ ovaries and lumps. My pain is strong at times and I am also taking over the counter pain meds.
I am looking forward to my visit I am waiting for the biopsy's to come back to make sure they got all the cancer. No treatment hopefully.
It is driving me crazy not to do things. Summer is here, I guess a nice tan will help.
