Can't have estrogen...Progesterone?

I've been on the Vivelle Patch for a few months and had to get off because I developed a blood clot in my leg. Can I take progesterone? From what I've read it does not cause the same problems as estrogen. Anyone know?

Keep in mind that not everyone who has experience with this may be on the forums at the time you post your question. You need to be patient and wait for a response.

One thing to keep in mind is that progesterone is not going to work like estrogen does. They are two different hormones, thus using progesterone alone may not do anything to alleviate symptoms of menopause such as hot flashes, etc.

You do need to ask your doctor if progesterone is okay for you to use with the blood clot problem.
