Can an ultrasound move a fibroid?

I have quite a few fibroids but have never had significant pain with them. I have tons of bleeding and pain during Aunt Flo but since my ultrasound a few weeks ago it seems like I have pretty intense pain at times that I didn't have before. Is it possible the ultrasound relocated the fibroid or can you think of some other reason it would be hurting more now than before?

Re: Can an ultrasound move a fibroid?

I too have fibroids. Ultrasounds cannot move or effect our fibroids as they are just pics of what is going on inside of us. Fibroids do grow larger and cause more havoc over time.

Re: Can an ultrasound move a fibroid?

I have a 12 cm cyst and during the internal ultrasound she kept saying my cyst was getting in the way of a clear view. I did notice during and after the ultrasound for quite some time I had more pain then before.

Re: Can an ultrasound move a fibroid?

I think it just makes the fibroids angry!! Mine stopped hurting about a week after the ultrasound, haven't had any trouble since then.

Have you talked to your doctor about this? I would request for another one since your condition has changed.

Re: Can an ultrasound move a fibroid?

I experienced pain for about a week after my ultrasounds. My uterus was extremely sensitive and it was responding to the sound waves used in ultrasound. I also had MRI-related pain.

Be sure to let your doctor know.

Hope you feel better soon!
