Night sweat??

I just want to know if this is a night sweat...I woke up covered in sweat feeling like I was in an oven. I had to take off the covers. I woke up a few hours later feeling like a Popsicle.

As I think back, I've had these for a few months. On my ultrasound my ovaries were hidden. I am wondering if I should ask for another ultrasound? I am scared that my ovaries might have to come out then I would have to go on HRT...which I don't know anything about. I want a chance to research my options.

I would appreciate any suggestions about my situation.

Thanks!

Re: Night sweat??

Butterfly1857, I've had the same "night sweat"" happen as well. When i asked my Dr about it, he said it was a normal peri-menopause symptom. The Popsicle effect is the sweat drying and having all the covers off as it does. I've learned to compromise and when i wake up in a total sweat, i toss off all but the sheet.

Regarding the rest, if it were me, i would ask more questions regarding my ovaries as well as HRT and if the answers i got didn't make good sense to me, i'd talk to another Dr about my concerns and see if s/he would be willing to do another ultrasound.

Re: Night sweat??

Butterfly1857,

Sure seems like a classic hot flash or night sweat to me. Perimenopause? From what I understand seeing your ovaries on an ultrasound won't tell you much about your menopause status. Hot flashes are a better sign of how your ovaries are working. Talk to your doc about your ovaries and what he recommends.

Re: Night sweat??

Patty,
Thanks so much for your advice. I thought I was too young for menopause. I'm only 34. But my female parts are wacky as them want to be. I will talk to the doctor I have an appt. in two weeks.

Re: Night sweat??

I woke up last week drenched in sweat. My first thought was "Whoa, serious hot flash!"

Then I realized that it's April, in Southern Arizona, and I still have a down comforter on the bed.

No hot flash - just HOT!

Re: Night sweat??

LOL to above post! I too have those darn night sweats. quite frequently, in fact some nights I wake up several times soaking wet and hot and then start freezing cause i'm soaked and not covered up anymore. I don't take hrt, I use herbal supplements especially geared for menopause symptoms, hang in there sister.
