"funky" looking uterus after ablation...

Yep, my doctor actually used that term "funky" looking lining of my uterus. She said it might be because of the ablation I had almost two years ago. She was going to do a biopsy anyway at my pre-op, so she will find out more then. But, I was curious if anyone who may have had an ablation have the same thing?

I have my hysterectomy scheduled May26, but a little concerned about her observation.

I did have a biopsy done before my ablation, and it was normal.

Any opinions are appreciated!

Re: "funky" looking uterus after ablation...

Interesting term to use about your uterus 'funky'. I had an ablation in January and my hyster last month as the ablation made matters worse!

I haven't had my pathology results back yet but my doctor told me my uterus was enlarged and very difficult to extract which was a surprise to him. So I'm wondering if the ablation caused some of that. Won't find out for another two weeks. Hopefully there is nothing wrong I'm sure having your uterus cooked can make it look 'funky'.

Thanks Whitt for your reply.

That's what my doctor was saying - she thinks it might just look funky cause of the ablation - she didn't seem to concerned though as she doesn't plan on doing the biopsy until my pre-op which is still 4 weeks away.

My ablation worked for the bleeding - however my pain is worse than ever, plus I have a huge cyst on one ovary and moderate endo.

Re: "funky" looking uterus after ablation...

I hope all goes well with your surgery, I will be five weeks post op on Monday and feel really good considering I had a TAH. The pain is all gone now, except for the odd twinge of healing I've already had one cycle since the op and it was fine and I shouldn't be anemic anymore.

I am 38 and have had a lot of surprised comments when I tell people what surgery I had but I don't regret it at all after all the other things I tried which didn't work I am so relieved that all seems to be fixed.
