Betadine Douche ??

I know what it is, BUT its trying to FIND one and in time! Walgreens doesnt carry them and can have one compounded, she said none of the local ones carry them and I would need an RX and it takes a few days I also checked CVS, same story. She told me the brand name so I looked online but I order alot from a certain drugstore with a dot com at the end and they have the Summers Eve MEdicated douche with 0.3% Povidine Iodine. Is that too weak for what the doc wants? I can't find the medication percent on the Vagi-gard one that the Pharmacist told me to get but the active ingredient is the same, just don't know if its the same potency. Anyone have any clue? I could call my doc yes, but if I'm gonna order from .com I need to do so tonight so I get it in time. I gotta order my mag citrate from them too. The pharm only had cherry and grape and I just aint feelin those flavors lol, I'm gonna try the crystal light lemonade in lemon lime.

I had to get a betadine douche as well and I live in FL. I went to Walgreens and picked one up over the counter. I didn't have any problems at all.

Where are you in FL? I live in Riverview just south of Tampa and my Walgreens told me they didnt carry them at any of their stores unless it was compounded, BUT they do have the summers eve one I found online so thats why I was wondering if it was different. hmm... I'm kinda amused that ppl use betadine douches regularly!! I guess my generation was taught that anything in there messes up the pH so leave it be, but other generations believe in keepin it fresh lol. Just one of those little things that makes me go hmmmm

I live in the panhandle of FL. Have you been to Walgreens and checked. I called them the other day for something and was told they didn't have it, but when I checked they actually did. Someone just didn't know what they were talking about. Of course they may not have them where you are. Good luck.

Couldn't you just get betaine and a douche bag and mix ip up yourself? Or don't they sell those anymore? Good grief I didn't do a douche. Maybe the other one with a splash extra betadine thrown in? That's my thinking. The mag cit with Crystal lite----dont forget to chill it. Douching is pretty outdated I thought so no surprise you can't find them. Good luck with this and your surgery.

I found lemon lime mag cit at Target. Seems silly you have to order it on-line, its so cheap to buy your shipping would be 3 or 4 times cost. Sorry you are having trouble finding it. Good luck.

My doctor ordered the betadine douche, but told me if I could not find one, to give them a call back and they would tell me how to mix one.

I was actually at Walgreens and the pharmacist looked in their computer and said it was totally discontinuted, so she called to order it and said they cant even order the medical grade one the doc wants. I don't even have any betadine here. The whole idea considering I'm 99% sure i'll be bleeding seems redundant! I found a mom and pop pharmacy that can order it and it will be there tomorrow. I need it by Monday. I'll check Target for the mag citrate if I can't find the lemon lime I'll just suck up the stupid cherry lol. He wanted 3 enemas, I cried my way outta that one, but for good reason lol, if I'm on my period I can hardly pass a bm from the pain etc, I know it would be excrutiating to have to do enemas and I have no one that will be here that day to help do it, dh has to work 3 hours away until late the night before to get everything done for the week he'll be off after.
