Compounded HRT, loving it!

Hello everyone,

I haven't visited for a while but I just had to come back and share this. It's been 5 years since I had a total hyst. I am now 34 yrs old and have been on either vivelle or climara (depending on which my ins. decides to pay for that month) the entire 5 yrs. I really battled with weight gain, water rentention, depression and sore breasts and lack of sex drive. I really just thought it was all part of the process. I had read about compounded HRT but there was not a doctor or pharm. in my area that offered such. Recently a gyn and pharm. in my area began offering saliva testing and prescribing compounded HRT. I had the test done and found that my progest. levels were extremely low. They said it should between 100-400 and mine was 4! I was prescribed a compounded cream. I've only been on it a week but boy what a difference!!!! I feel like myself again! I feel alive, energetic, and well, my husband is sure liking the difference too, if you know what I mean . I can't believe the past five years could have been so different with different HRT. The DR. said it could take up to 12 weeks to feel the full effects so I'm hoping that this is not temp., but Praise the Lord, I finally found something that makes me feel human again! I just wanted to share this with everyone that it's not all in your head and there is hope!

Re: Compounded HRT, loving it!

Are you still on the patch and adding progest. cream? Or are you using compounded estrogen with the progest. cream?
Thanks for sharing your positive story.

Re: Compounded HRT, loving it!

I stopped using the patch altogether. The cream is a combo of the "better" form of estrogen, I don't remember what it's called, progesterone and DHEA (I'm not sure that that is, but the Dr. said it builds muscle and is produced by the ovaries).

So glad to hear your success story!
Could you tell me what is in your compounded cream? It should say on the label.
