Change in DH?

I had my surgery 6 weeks ago. I might be seeing things but DH seem to want to just stay way from me and just do his own thing. Did anyone else DH start acting funny?

Re: Change in DH?

Yes mine did. I think he was terrified of me, and his inability to "fix" me, so he just stayed away. lol I realized this after getting better. The less help I needed, the more he was around. Men are really just scared 5-year-olds in big bodies.

Re: Change in DH?

My DH has been amazing through this with me... for the most part. He does all the cooking, all the cleaning, takes care of the kids and me without one single complaint. BUT... you knew this was coming right? lol.... I want for him to hug me, hold me, snuggle with me... SOMETHING... I get the occasional kiss on the forehead and little else like I'm contagious or something. The vibe I get is that he afraid he might hurt me and feels guilty that he can't "fix" it for me.

Re: Change in DH?

Mine has luckily been amazing but i have made it a point to stay flirty and joking about his new playground..lol! I did have to kind of be a little persistant when it came down to the actual "re-union"!

Re: Change in DH?

Maybe a little of it is that he knows the playground is closed for renovations and he doesn't want to stir things up for himself?

Re: Change in DH?

Mine won't let me be alone. Yesterday he took our 16yr old son to church for band practice and was terrified that i would get up and fall or do something to hurt myself.

Now that the staples are out, maybe he'll let up on the guard routine. I can't walk to the pottie without being asked if I need help. YIKES but I know it's all being done in love

Re: Change in DH?

My husband is a great guy, but he did disappoint me a bit during this recovery process. He doesn't work outside of the home because of a serious injury, and he's spent a lot of time with his nose buried in a book. So, i've felt somewhat lonely. Although we are in the house together, I felt as if there was not much interaction between us. Then, when I went back to the hospital a week after my surgery, he didn't stay with me overnight. He came back to see me at 2 pm. the next day. I guess he just needed a break from me, but it still hurt.

Re: Change in DH?

I'm 6 weeks today and going for my post-op appt. My DH also has started to act kinda weird around me too. He has been amazing during this whole thing though. He really stepped up to the plate and surprised me. But he is acting a bit off with me lets say....The affection hasn't really been there 100 percent. I miss it though.
