Really really frustrated-need to vent-soory very long

I am so frustrated and ticked off and just ready to scream. Only problem is I don't know who to yell at or what to do. I am eight months post surgery and am still trying to recover. Not going so hot at the moment.
I was recently diagnosed with shingles in addition to long standing(8 yrs) dx of Crohn's,IBS< and GERD. New diagnosis of interstitial cystitis. Ended up in er again-this is about the seventh time since my surgery. Pain med quit working and anti nausea meds not working either. They changed me to patches to see if it helps-it does help with shingles not with abdominal pain.
Saw my gi doc yesterday and basically told, "All your tests are normal, don't know what is causing pain, don't have a pill, Sorry I don't have the answer. I felt like he blew me off. I told him what happened several years ago when I had pain ongoing for months and my body said enough. ended up in hospital. He looked at another test he had done, realized it wasn't quite normal and is going to do another test. Needs to check to make sure I have no narrowing of my entire digestive tract as he is thinking of doing a test with a camera that you swallow in a pill and it goes through you taking pictures. Only problem is that if you have a narrowing, camera get stuck and you end up in emergency surgery with life threatening problems. I definitely want first test done.
Saw my fourth allergist today and I give up. Every one I see is dumber than the one before. I swear they are just getting dumber by the day. This guy has no time so you start to explain as in "It started with mouth going numb and then...."he steps in and says I have it. I understand . Did it throughout.
Had a stress test today-I did well at first but when they increased the speed I suddenly got really dizzy and faint. They have you hooked up to machine so hopefully will see something. I know one thing-not being able to eat/drink for four hours prior did nothing to help me. I just hope it gave some info,
Scheduled for a echo of heart next week then pulmonary testing the next week. This should resolve what my problems are with exercising when not on Zyrtec,
I keep getting called "unique, unusual, complicated, difficult to diagnose, slow healer, etc, etc.
My primary said to get tests completed. I asked her what she would do if they don't have an answer after this. She said go to a one of the major centers that are well known like John Hopkins or one of those. At this point, if they can't come up with an answer, I guess I will have to seriously consider this. I can't live like this-having to go to er constantly or to specialists or to my primary. Have been on pain meds for last seven months. Sorry for the vent. Just needed to get it out. I am just so darn frustrated that my doctors keep trying to pin it on another specialist area as being the problem. I certainly don't expect a miracle cure-just some answers.

Z- so sorry to hear this. My mom has a very complex set of symptoms and conditions too. It took going to Mayo Clinic for her to get her meds and diagnoses straightened out. If you can, please arrange for this too. They have a team of specialists who constantly communicate with *each other* and are some of the best in their fields. Good luck to you!

Sorry to hear. (not to freak you out, but strange things can happen) When my mother ended up with shingles for the second time she had them on/in (not quite sure how it all worked) her kidney. This was 3 years ago, but since its not common hard to find and they don't exactly look there. But now she has perm nerve damage and lives in severe pain every day. Worth a further look at what damge could have been done from the shingles anyway.
This is a wonderful place to vent, there is always someone to listen and try to help. I hope everything works out just fine and you find a good doctor. I agree with Susanrm with going to the specialty clinic.
Take care!!

Oh, Zen, I'm so sorry. What a stressful situation you have and that's putting it mildly. I hope they find some answers/solutions soon. I can't imagine the pain and frustration you are living with daily. You know we are always here for you, so vent whenever you need to. Going to one of the major centers sounds like a good plan. Take care.

Re: Really really frustrated-need to vent-soory very long

Thank you guys so much. It has been incredibly frustrating as I have dealt with this. I plan to get the tests done and if they don't have an answer, go to one of the major clinics for help. I don't expect a miracle but living on pain pills isn't really great either. Am doing a little better today. I am amazed at how much seeing the two docs who barely listened to me really stressed me out. I was just so annoyed and ready to scream. Luckily my primary doc is really good. It helps to hear that going to the Mayo Clinic did help your mom. I always wondered if they really were able to help when others couldn't. Once again, thanks for the support.
