Re: menopause and hrt

menopause is different for everyone. I have had a hard time, emotionally and cognitively, but other ladies manage just fine!

Re: menopause and hrt

Kelly,
When it comes to menopause and hrt there are no guarantees, but that doesn't mean that one cannot find balance. Some women take whatever their doctor prescribes and don't miss a beat, while others have a more difficult time finding the right mix.

I have read the younger you are, the more you'll need some type of hormone replacement. I was 36 at the time of my tah/bso and there is no way I could've made it this far without hrt. I did get frustrated at one point, ripping off my patch and not replacing it. HUGE mistake, I have never intentionally went without my hrt since that horrible mistake.

Of course, everyone is different. There is no crystal ball to know what type of symptoms you may have and how you will do with or without hrt. I would suggest discussing this issue with your doctor and making an informed decision that is best for you.

You can read more about hormones and the symptoms of menopause in the articles at www.hormonejungle.com The articles are printable so you can print out the ones that interest you the most and take them in to discuss with your doctor.

We also have a Resource Database that contains lots of Resources on menopause http://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/link.php?

Whatever you and your doctor decide, HysterSisters is here to support you in that decision.
