Going through my last painful period!!!

Hey everyone,

Just thought I'd share the good news that this will be my very last painful period--hooray! It was pretty bad--had to leave work just 2 hrs into my day, but my supervisor took one look at me and said leave now. I took her advice and came home and took a pain pill and slept for 5 hours. This adenomyosis is really painful stuff. I'm not even scared about the post op pain because if I can survive these painful periods then I can survive anything. So looking forward to my LAVH on June 4th The only thing that worries me is my inability to keep still during recovery. I'm one of those people who is always doing some project around the house. I just can't stay still and I'm afraid of becoming bored. Reading is great, but can't do it for hours on end. Not much of a TV person. Any suggestions for keeping entertained while recovering????

Sorry to hear you are in so much pain
I love books.....and plan to read alot while recovering plus catch up on correspondence I have been putting off. Maybe it's time for you to organize all those pictures or finish another project? I plan to to clean out all my work notes from 10 years back-LOL.

June 4th here as well and also having my last period. I'm also having this surgery because of adenomyosis. The pain was so bad I had to take a sick day yesterday. Usually the pain is so bad that I can't sleep even after taking lots of pain killers. I have a high tolerant of pain and I have to agree with you about the post op pain. If I can get through this pain month after month I can handle the post op pain.

I am also having my last visit from "Flo" and boy is she honkerblonked! I think she heard this is her last hurrah because the bleeding and cramps have been horrendous. I just keep thinking it's the last time so go ahead throw all you got at me because you are on the way out! My TAH is scheduled for 6/14-the day before what would have been my next period, darn (hahahahaha!) You guys take care and good luck with your surgeries and your last visit from "Flo". We are all going to come out of this stronger, happier and healthier. Peace and love!

My surgery is June 14th also but I'm not due to start my period until next week and the pain and bloating is already building up so I know it is going to be another bad one. I also have adenomyosis and it seems that every month it just gets more painful and the bleeding gets heavier and last longer. I anxious about the surgery but excited that all of this will soon be over.

I love that so many of us are having our last period! It is like my uterus is kicking and screaming! Great hugs and love to all of us as we travel down this road one last time!

I am on my last period....this is day 7 already and still hurting like crazy.

Surgery is next Wednesday 26th and i also feel like this is my insides doing their last HOO RAH!!

I kind of chuckled when I read this post. I have adeno as well and started my last period today. I'm having my TAH on June 1st and absolutely cannot wait. I think Flo knows something's up because she has been a monster today. It's hard to believe that this will be it!!! Good luck gals!

I remember how excited I was to get my very last period ever!!! It's a great feeling....nice to know that pretty soon all this will be behind you all and you can get on with your pain free lives!!! Good luck to everyone who's surgery is coming up soon. I'm 13 days post op and feeling pretty good...still a road ahead of me but at least I know the worst part is over.

June 4 here also! And I just finished what I hope will be my last period. Can you say 5 weeks of bleeding? I have no idea if it was two back-to-back or just one monster of a visit, but hopefully the last two weeks with Ms. Uterus will be free and clear.

I really feel for you ladies who have such pain. My MD suspects adeno, too, but I don't have the pain you ladies have. Just gushes and gushes of blood. Gah!
