Is Enjuvia bio identical?

I've been on enjuvia for about three weeks now. I had a complete hysterectomy in Dec 09. I was on estradiol 1 mg for about 3 months but I started having severe night sweats and my Doctor switched me to this. My question is this, is enjuvial a bio identical hormone? I have a lot of cancer risk in my family and just need to make sure it's safe enough. Also, I've been feeling great. I'm back to my walking routine in the mornings and my arthritis has settled down. I'm wondering if all the pain was hormone related.

Re: Is Enjuvia bio identical?

Enjuvia is not bio-identical; it's a mixture of synthetic conjugated estrogens.

Nice to hear that you're feeling great.

Re: Is Enjuvia bio identical?

Thanks for letting me know about enjuvia. I'll have to seriously reconsider my options.

Re: Is Enjuvia bio identical?

If you're feeling great why do you want to reconsider? Despite all the hype, the bioidenticals don't work for everyone, and if an hrt isn't working then it isn't really "healthy". I gave the bioidentical route a fair trial for over 18 months and my body just metabolized them outta there too fast. The synthetic form (I'm on Enjuvia) is the only one that stays around long enough to get the job done.

Re: Is Enjuvia bio identical?

I just worry a lot about cancer. My father died of cancer, and all four of his siblings have cancer. My mothers side is really bad as well. Trying to stay cancer free, you know?
