Feel like belly "loose" - would band help?

LAVH on May 7th. Was doing ok then overdid it last Friday. I feel like I need to hold my stomach constantly....it feels so "loose". I can't suck in my stomach anymore....almost like my stomach muscles are gone (assuming that is normal).

But....would a band help to hold everything in?? I hate to have any fabric touching me right now (hence the sundresses I wear every day) but my stomach feels like it will fall out.

Am I crazy?

Hi, I do know exactly what you mean by that 'loose' feeling! I did use a belly band for several weeks after my surgery and it really helped alot. It's definitely worth a try...I thought the pressure would bother my incision (still feeling tenderness and soreness @ 12 weeks) but it actually felt good to have the extra support. Also helped me sleep on my side faster, I had a terrible time sleeping on my back. The way I looked at it right after my surgery was try anything that might help - if it doesn't you try something else no harm done. Good luck to you hope you're feeling better soon!

No, you're definitely not crazy!

I wore my binder during the day from week 2 to week 10. It definitely made me feel more secure and protected. I wore it on top of my undies. I bought the regular binder from the hystersisters store and got real fast service. It's adjustable, it hooks with velcro. It worked great for me.

Best wishes for your recovery. I'm at week 13 and feeling like I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel, and thank goodness it's NOT a train!! LOL!! Take care.
