tingling in hand after surgery also bleeding

is it normal to have tingling/numbness in right hand after having my last ovary removed which was done 5/26 the nurse in recovery says it was the way the arm was positioned but my surgery was 20 hours ago ,three fingers are numb top of hand and side, also had iv in this hand too so not sure any input be great right now

other concern i have is this my hysterctomy was done last year leaving one ovary behind which was removed today, when the nurse had me walk to bathroom i am bleeding like i am having a cycle what is up with that?

Re: tingling in hand after surgery also bleeding

I would keep bugging the nurse or call your dr until they give you a better answer. That doesn't seem right!
Maybe at least rub your hand to help with the circulation to get feeling back...or ask the nurse to do it, she'll get you an answer then.
As for bleeding, you just had surgery that pushed things around again, so that should be normalish right?
Just want you to feel better!!!

Thanks! the bleeding stopped today thank goodness was weird having bleeding with all my parts technically gone with the exception of the ovary that was removed yesterday,as for the tingling that did subside through the night but is coming and going now,i do have a follow up next week from this surgery just was not expecting to go through all this and more pain added to the pain i was having i have like 8 holes in stomach from this guess he had a hard time locating it as he told me there be 4 holes not 8 lol.............but its out and i am on my way to recovery now of course little odd side effects are coming on now from coughing a lot feeling like i caught a cold that could be from anesthesia and when i lay down i feel like my insides are pulling and stretching

Re: tingling in hand after surgery also bleeding

Hey Cindy! Nerves are funny things, especially in the hands. It could be a combination of the position your arm was in as well as the IV having nudged something. If its coming and going then it will likely subside after a few days. I had a terrible time the first 48 hrs with my throat due to the tube. Someone suggested using mints and I wish I had heard about that before my surgery. Don't forget the pillow to hold to your belly while coughing!

I'd ask the Dr about why all the incisions. They could be part of the reason for your insides feeling the way they do.

Hope your healing goes well!
