Was starting to feel better when....

Ok, so I got the ok to drive 3 weeks post op and was starting to feel much better. 2 days ago I was in my garden talking with a neighbor when I started to get a hot flash, then a panic attack and it all of a sudden turned into a seizure! I have had seizures in the past but only when I get the flu and late at nite followed by severe vomitting. This time it scared the daylights out of me and my neighbor and I slept for the rest of the day and part of the next as well. The day after my seizure I called the doctor and they told me to get in right away! After having a breakdown in the office she took my drivers license away and am now unable to drive until I see a neurologist. So back to square 1 and bored out of my mind! I have no idea when I see the neurologist and it is driving me mad having to play the waiting game!

Re: Was starting to feel better when....

roselakelady,
I am so sorry you are going through this. I think it is probably a better idea that you don't drive until the neurologist figures this out. You definitely don't want to be behind wheel of car if it happens again. I know how boring it is to be confined to home. hopefully you can find something to keep you busy. Maybe some online games,, or a movie or a book or just sitting in your garden. I imagine the neurologist will see you quickly with this happening. Try to bear with it until the neurologist can see you. Sending lots of prayers and big hugs.

Re: Was starting to feel better when....

Thanks for the thoughtful words. It just seems like over the past 5 months everything that can go wrong has. Whenever I go to see my doctor she asks how I am doing and my response is usually "I don't know, you tell me". I think the hardest part of all of this is that I live about 1/2 hour drive out of town and driving is what I do every day for everything, even have to drive my son to the bus because it is 2km away from the house. Yesterday was a real emotional day for me, why, I don't know but today is not quite as bad. Still waiting to hear back from the neurologist, probably not until next week some time. Thanks for listening to me rant.

Re: Was starting to feel better when....

I can definitely sympathize with you about if something can go wrong it will. I am also under that theory at this point in time. In fact, my new best friends are the er docs and nurses at our local hospital!! They see me and go "I remember you. Did you eat something, take a med or something else?" It has to be tough for you not to be able to drive but hopefully the neurologist will see you real soon. Just try to hang in there for a little while.
