LSH with A&P repairs

Hello Everyone,

My name is Gigi I am 32 years old and I have 4 children. Due to a uterus, bladder, and rectal prolapse I will be scheduling my LSH w/A&P repairs with a possible TVT in July. I am very nervous and scared about this surgery. I've been reading everyone's post and see that the recovery time is different. My doctor has said nothing can go in the vagina for 12 weeks! Yikes...!!! I wonder if sex will ever be the same for me, and what will recovery be like. I also wonder if I will go into menopause. I'm keeping my ovaries and cervix. My doctor said I should'nt, but I don't seem to trust it. Can anyone fill me in on what to expect?

Thanks,
Gigi

Re: LSH with A&P repairs

Gleiva -

I am so glad you found us.

I can't give you insight on the repairs because I did not have them. A close friend did and I know she had at least 12 weeks of restrictions. I'm sure others will be along to offer some insight to you.

Sometimes the ovaries do go into shock and that can give you menopause symptoms so some women go on hormone replacement (HRT) for a bit. You'll have to cross that bridge when / if you come to it.

Even without all the repairs it took me a bit to have sex feel normal, others don't have issues so again something you'll have to wait and see about.

I know there aren't any cut and dried answer because we all recover a bit differently. Read over the Checkpoints so you can start getting prepared and take it one day at a time if you can.
