Well, honey, it's gonna be a while. It's a big scar and it takes quite a while to heal. Just keep trying, eventually everything will work! I'm impressed you can get your jeans zipped already!

Re: 10 weeks post op,,, still cant wear my jeans
I had horizontal and I can wear my jeans, but I'm like you the bend of the zipper bothers me and then between my incision and belly button starts to bother me so about mid day I have to put my other pants on. I broke down and bought some more. I heard it takes 6 months to a year. I hope it's 6 months or I'll have to buy more sweat pants, I borrowed my oldest daughters and some I wouldn't wear out of the house. lol
Good luck.

Re: 10 weeks post op,,, still cant wear my jeans
I can certainly sympathize....I'm at 3 months and my jeans and skirts all hurt my incision. Some days my incision hurts and stings really bad even if I'm wearing comfy pants. The swelly belly comes and goes, but is definitely not gone. I'm hoping time will help, but I'm sure getting tired of feeling uncomfortable all the time....my favorite work outfit is a dress that I found, but when I wear it people think I'm applying for a new job and have an interview...if only I could be so lucky....

I heard a great idea on another post. Take a maxi pad and place lengthwise withpad side toward incision. I have done thia and it eases the pain of the hard zipper.

Re: 10 weeks post op,,, still cant wear my jeans
I tried to wear jeans last night for the first time in 3+ weeks. I am in trouble when I go back to work, my uniform won't fit. Hoping my boss will let me wear maternity pants or at least leave my shirt untucked so I'll be more comfortable.

I got my jeans on today to run a few errands, but they had to come off as soon as I got home. Love my drawstring pants!!

Re: 10 weeks post op,,, still cant wear my jeans
Just a suggestion, I didnt have my surgery abdominally I had a TVH and I can wear jeans (loosely lol) but have you ladies considered getting maternity jeans with the demi panel? Not the full belly but the like 2 inch band that goes all the way around? I know buying maternity clothes may be a soft area for those that can't have kids because of this surgery but I think those may be a good idea if you want to wear jeans. I recommend trying them on or at least sizing down because they are made for pregnant belly's. I wear a 10-12 in jeans and I wore a medium in maternity jeans. You can get dress pants like that too for job interviews, and they are amazingly comfy.
Just a thought hopefully it'll help someone get out of sweats some and feel a little better about themselves, I know I feel yucky wearing sweat pants all the time.

Re: 10 weeks post op,,, still cant wear my jeans
I find that an abdominal binder or a support garment helps with the incision pain. I also put a SurgiPad (from Walgreens, like a gauze pad) there at that location, with a support garment. Give that a try?
