I arrived promply at 5:30 a.m. as told, and my DH and I proceeded to wait about 25 minutes! Being anxious at this point does not help!! I finally get called and signed in, had the braclet of no return attached to my wrist and was escorted into the pre-op area! Meet the same male nurse that I had two months earlier for my D&C and started to sneeze like the dickens due to his colonge, everyone thought it was extremely funny, all I thought of was how the heck can I have tummy surgery and survive a fit like this!!! Got fitted for my lovely gown, also got these lovely support socks and booties! What a fashion statement I was, DH still giggling! Then I had my IV started and was informed by this lady that it was shave prep time!! I explained to the dear woman it was my birthday and she just congradulated me and proceeded with the shave, needless to say my DH is really laughing now, I have never seen this man this amused so early in the morning!!! At about 7a.m. the anesthetist came in and I told him about how I get sick with general and morphine and I hate the sore throat from being intubated, told me not to worry he would take good care of me, got my funny shot and it was time to say goodbye to hubby and off I go!! As I was being wheeled into the OR was sung Happy Birthday to by the staff and that is the last thing I remember until I awoke a little over 2 hours later!!
When I did wake up in recovery that is the only time I felt pain!! I also woke up really fast and was amazed that I did not have a sore throat and told the nurse to give my compliments to the Dr. I did proceed to complain about the pain and was told I would get a shot and be fitted for my pump upstairs in my room. Doctor came by and all I remember him saying is that they had to leave the cervix in due to stuck to my bladder and it was the only thing holding it up! Great going to need more surgery later I guess. Was brought upstairs to my room about an hour later and was told because it was my B-day I was getting a private!! I was so very happy! Hurt like heck being moved but then I got the best present of all MY PUMP!!! I must of pushed that baby like crazy because then I felt great!!! My family who visited said I was very very amusing! I don't think I let go of that till the next morning

Thursday I woke up and felt great took my last pain shot at 10a.m and never had one again!! They took off the boots they put on me and told me it was time to walk, boy oh boy, I know what a turtle feels like when its on its back!! Took awhile to get use to the rolling thing but I caught on fast! Really at this point things were going good but then the nausea kicked in and they were able to keep it under control until early Friday morning when it crept up on my in my sleep, needless to say it really hurts to vomit after surgery and Thank Goodness I only did it once. AT this point I was told if I didn't eat and keep it down I would not get to go home tomorrow. Being the ever pleasing princess I sipped my broth like a good girl and got to go home on Saturday!!
The biggest reason for me being sick I think was due to they were painting rooms down the hall and I have a VERY sensitive nose and am bothered by smells. So I am so glad to be home and I can finally say the wait is the worse!! But I feel great and sorry this was a long one!!
Thanks for all your hugs and prayers they have worked!
