Hi Sisters,
I had a vaginal hystertcomy nearly three years ago. Kept the ovaries. About four months ago I had right-side hemmorhagic ovarian cyst, diagnosed with TVU. Doc gave me birth control pills for one month to see if the cyst would collapse. It did, but I still had groin pain.
Eventually couldn't ignore it. I was sure another cyst came back once I stopped taking the birth control pills.
Went back to my GYN and he said nope, it wasn't back.
Went to my family doctor, who said I had a pulled groin muscle. But I hadn't been to the gym in months due to the cyst. None-the-less I started the anti-inflammatories he prescribed, but there was no change at all. It got worse.
Went to get a second opinion at a new GYN. She could feel something was there. Sent me for STAT ultrasounds, but again, ovaries looked great.
She suggested laparscopy to check for endo the very next morning. Had the procedure yesterday. NO ENDO ANYWHERE which is of course great news.
But she did see an
inguinal (or groin) hernia. So she called in a general surgeon to take over (while I was still asleep) and he had to cut into my groin/abdomen to repair the hernia. He could not do it laparoscply but I don't know why not. The surgery took a couple of hours. When I came out of the anesthesia I was so happy to hear SOMETHING was found. I kept saying to the nurse, over and over again, "I'm not crazy! See, I'm not crazy!" (We women tend to worry about that, don't we?)
I want you all to consider this possibility. I have no idea how it happened. It just started to hurt even when I pushed on the gas pedal in my car.
GET MORE OPINIONS. Find an agressive doctor

who is sympathetic and willing to take you to the OR for a lap diagnostic procedure. My hernia didn't show up on a CT scan either, since they have you laying flat on your back. My bulge was deep, which explained the constant back-ache.
Happy to be home recovering from surgery although it's not exactly fun times! Doc said no wine for at least a week
